This morning, I discovered a message in my Tumblr Inbox from a site called “Vapor Hookup.”
I don’t do this often, but I want to take a moment to extend a thumbs down to this site’s products, based on what I saw there.
First, the link that prompted this entry:
If you don’t feel like navigating away from this post to look, I’ll post the exact image I’m talking about:
Now call me a snob, but there’s only one other place, besides this site, where I have seen an eGo-style battery and charger sold in a blister pack as if it was a cheap toothbrush — in a liquor store.
I don’t trust it. Real eGo batteries don’t come in blister packs. No high quality PV battery comes in a blister pack. Again, call me a snob, call me superficial, whatever you like — you don’t get high quality electronic devices in shit-quality packaging like that.
Let’s turn to their eliquids. Actually, let’s not. Let’s not even bother. I can’t get past the obvious cheapness of the hardware, the hasty slapdash nature of the site, and the lack of commitment to quality those things show me.
This is something people need to know about, signs everyone should learn in order to avoid substandard products. If I had to hazard an educated guess, my educated guess would be that those batteries in blister packs are the ones that have made the news a few times for exploding due to lack of overcharge protection.
If that’s true — if that’s the kind of hardware this site is peddling — then I won’t even chance my health on the similar quality of the eliquid they’re offering.
And neither should you.
Thanks for reading, and until next time, please remember to support this blog; do good work, and be good to yourselves and each other.
