“Caramel MOVaccino” from Mountain Oak Vapors
This 18mg eliquid was tested on a 2.2 ohm microcoil running at 9 watts.
Mountain Oak Vapors says: “Caramel and Chocolate splash together with Coffee & Vanilla to make for one enjoyable coffee based desert vape. We spent a lot of time honing in on the perfect recipe, taking feedback, and tweaking until we found the perfect balance. We hope you enjoy our take on a Caramel Mochaccino blended in harmony with an MOV™ Twist!”
Without further ado, let’s get right to business:
Dark brown; not opaque, but a darker tint than most. Clean and clear. Responsive, but not nimble, and does leave a faint residue behind its movement on glass or polycarbonate. This indicates to me that this liquid may slightly reduce the lifespan of a coil compared to other liquids, and may also create flavor creep without a thorough cleaning of the coil before switching to a new flavor.
Caramel is the dominant character on the nose, followed by sugar, with a distant third note reading as vanilla, giving the nose on this eliquid a character reminiscent of some premium rums but without the medicinal tang of the alcohol.
While the density of the vapor is merely average, the volume of vapor is quite impressive. Flavor carriage is quite strong. On the other hand, the majority of the scent diminishes rapidly while leaving behind a faint echo that lingers for several minutes. As with all non-tobacco flavors, however, and particularly sweet dessert scents, you should have little reason to expect complaints from nonsmokers.
As with all high-PG-content eliquids, the throat hit here is full and firm. Mountain Oak Vapors seems to know how to consistently achieve a solid throat hit with their eliquids, and while this leaves me little to say as a reviewer, it leaves me nothing to complain about as a vaper.
The flavor here is just what’s advertised; what I didn’t expect is how rich it is. This leaves me in something of a quandary; while the flavor is delicious and I like it quite a lot, it’s something I just can’t take much of at a sitting. The caramel and mocha combination is just too much sweetness for my taste. The coffee component that the description alludes to… eludes me. But I don’t believe that’s because it isn’t there or that MOV don’t do coffee well — their NET eliquid by the name of “Sunday Morning” combines tobacco with coffee and cream, and the coffee shines through like a beacon in that juice, so I know they can do coffee. It seems to me that the coffee is simply drowned out in this liquid, thoroughly dominated by the caramel and mocha.
If you like mochas and have a sweet tooth that just won’t quit, this could be your all day vape. Nothing, and I mean nothing I’ve tasted from MOV beats Caramel MOVaccino when it comes to satisfying that dessert urge.
On the other hand, if like me you can only handle so much sweetness, then you still may find room in your rotation for this liquid as a substitute for dessert after a good meal.
